UPDATE March 2020: In various press statements, Mr Johnston has now 'distanced' himself from the plans detailed below. However, to the best of our knowledge, there has been no formal withdrawal of the proposals.


The Proposals

Bantham Estate owner Nicholas Johnston has drawn up plans to develop parts of the estate, as listed below.

In the village of Bantham, 16 new homes. 8 for rent, 8 for sale on the open market not limited to principal homes i.e. they could be second homes.

I - new development of five open market houses, with a further replacement dwelling

L - boat building/ restoration yard
M - eight family rented homes
N - village allotments
O - pedestrian/ cycle route
P - open market dwelling
Q - Two open market cottages
R - existing public footpath
S - open space with shaded seating
